The following, while technically native deities of Quinternia, are not signatories of the Divine Compact. They cannot grant their followers cleric spells, and their faiths are considered heretical, illegal cults.
Alignment: Chaotic Evil
Symbol: A Black Lotus petal, artistically illustrated to evoke imagery of genetalia
Portfolios: Lust, Pleasure, Addiction, Selfishness, Ecstasy
Titles: Lady of Lust, Lady of the Black Lotus, Demon Princess of Pleasure and Pain
Doctrine: Seek out all pleasures to as much excess as you can acquire and endure, then seek out more.
Domains: Trickery, Knowledge
Once a goddess of the pantheon and patron of sex and revelry, Ecstasis and her followers fell over the eons to ever more intense and depraved pleasures. These destructive pursuits led her to seek out ever more intense and depraved forms of stimulation, eventually leading her to bed her way into power in the Abyss, carving out her own domain of endless delights and torments. When the rest of the pantheon realized Ecstasis was truly lost, her sister Isthalia, then goddess of war, gathered her most trusted valkyrie and ventured deep into the Abyss. Finding her sister, Isthalia handily defeated her, and forcibly reclaimed the domains of sex and revelry from her, holding them for safekeeping for the good of the world.
Ecstasis often appears as a curvaceous woman or lithe, trim young man of great beauty, scantily clad in black leather and silks, sporting small horns, perfectly manicured and painted talons, and a long, prehensile tail, with a multitude of tattoos, piercings, and scarifications meant to accentuate and entice her thralls and victims alike. When appearing to mortals, her form and demeanor shift to that which is most enticing to her current mark. Her cultists often pop up in heavily trafficked drug dens, as well as seedier brothels that are less careful with their workers.
Alignment: Chaotic Evil
Symbol: A nebulous, unclassifiable predatory beast head, with fangs dripping blood
Portfolios: Dark beasts, nocturnal predators, killing for sport and trophies, murder and wholesale slaughter, cannibalism
Titles: Demon Prince of Dark Beasts, Slasher, Apex, Nightfang
Doctrine: Hunt and slay all who are weaker than you. Consume their flesh and grow strong.
Domains: War, Death
ROAR (not an actual name, just a bestial, throat-tearing howl meant to call his presence, for he has no known formal name) seeks an end to civilized society and a return to primitive, savage competition. He appears as a great anthropomorphic dire beast, mixing the traits of all the most lethal predators. When appearing to mortals, he often chooses a powerful, overly strong and savage version of the local apex predator species.
Alignment: Chaotic Evil
Symbol: A maelstrom composed of writhing tentacles
Portfolios: The ocean depths, drowning, waves, deep sea creatures
Titles: The Writhing One, the One Who Sends the Waves, the Abyssal Maw, The Lord of Depths
Doctrine: Drown all, wash everything into the sea, then sink the sea into the Abyss. Grant boons to mortals to change their nature for the coming depths.
Domains: Tempest, Nature, Death
Born of the creation of Quinternia, the Lord of Depths is the last surviving Behemoth of primordial times whose genesis formed some unknown purpose. Some speculate that it is actually a powerful far-realm entity that became stuck in the Prime Material plane, though others argue that not all tentacles indicate a far realm influence. A being of long slumbers, when its followers’ prayers prove sufficient to rouse it, it often appears as a great tentacled monstrosity, too large to exist anywhere but the deepest ocean trenches, or a similar, doubly abyssal layer of the Abyss where it most often rests, a fiendish kraken among krakens, granting strange and often horrific boons on both followers and bystanders, though such exertions do not last long before it drifts to slumber once more. It now knows that its purpose is to cause the ending of Quinternia, when its time comes. The Abyssal Maw asserts itself as the lone force of divine destruction subjugating all demonic forces on Quinternia.
While not technically deities that can grant clerical spells, the following beings have been known to grant supernatural aid to mortal followers. While some would lump them in with other dark gods, such taxonomy is inaccurate, as they are each beings of a wholly different nature.
Most fey are beholden to either the Seelie or Unseelie courts instead of worshipping the gods. Many elves and gnomes more in touch with their fey natures also may count themselves as part of the courts. They rule the Feywild, the Seelie during the Spring and Summer, and the Unseelie during Fall and Winter. They don't grant clerical powers, but their followers are most often sorcerers, druids, or possibly warlocks. It is theorized that the influence of Thinwe has lead Ahasitari to ignore most of their activities which are not too intrusive upon the Material world.
While actually chaotic good, Titania is recognized by law as one of the "Dark" gods, though Ahasitari has declined to take any action against her.
Definitely Evil, but not in a traditional way as other “Dark” gods. While Ahasitari has not moved against her yet, she remains wary of the Queen’s suspicious motives and dark predilections.
Many generations ago, the Gokutawa clan of the Ryotan Empire fell to infernalism, though its patron is not well recorded. Since then, the Ryotan Emperor and its Shogun aggressively hunt down any hints of infernalism.
It is also known that Principius Maximus was actually Dominus Rex, an arch-devil in disguise, though he has since been disgraced and demoted for his failure.
The Bright Empire was the Dread Empire for several generations, nearly all of its imperial line and ruling class falling to infernalism, with the primary patron of Zariel, Fallen Angel of Hell. While all known infernalism was purged, it’s possible relics and cultists could still remain.
In the centuries following the Deluge, the great evil wyrm L’Vreth the Black took over a thousand-mile stretch of land along the flooded Benevolence River. During her reign, at some point she fell under the sway of the Demon Princess of Fungus, becoming infected with Abyssal rot and poisoning the land for hundreds of miles around, before she was eventually defeated during the Second Eidolon War. In addition, the Demon Prince of Gnolls and The Prince of Secrets and Lies also made their presence known intermittently through the same period, though all are said to have suffered defeats.
Once does not worship the omnipotent and omniscient aberrations of the Far Realm so much as try and flag down their attention and hope their curiosity results in a boon instead of slaughter. Few are known to have willingly dealt with them over the ages.
